We all need a white pine tree (2018)

Copper Nickel mining is a sensitive issue in northern Minnesota. As Iron mining fade, many workers may not be able to sustain their life in the iron range. It is natural to desire alternative mining as an option. However, the potential danger to the ecosystem of Minnesota can not be ignored. This project attempts to build a bridge between these two opposing discourses by offering a compact ecosystem in a little Chinese takeout box. The box contain a seed of white pine, soil and a earth warm. It also includes a fortune cookie with sentences from both sides of the debate. Save the boundary water group, Dr. John Paster and Minnesota DNR have given advises to complete the project.
