Zamami Plastic project (2017)

OSL organized a science and art workshop for elementary school student at Zamami Island. Participating students learned about types of plastic found on their local beach, introduction to micro plastic pollution, and conservation and sustainable life style. Students made various sea animals using plastic trash and art pieces were displayed all overt the island for the locals and tourists to see. The project aims to use both art and science to teach students about the importance of coral reef conservation as well as to nurture the idea of ownership of their island. The village of Zamami and Zamami elementary school hosted the event.
