OIST Science School (2018)

As a part of OIST Science School Program, I taught a one-week course about coral reef ecosystems to local third graders. Students were expected to learn from scientific information, direct observation, field work, and art. Combining diverse inputs of the same contents throughout the week, many students enjoyed the time learning about the animals, water system, the food chain, and dangerous animals. The program focused on not only the biology and art, but also emphasized the idea of conservation and sustainable food consumption for the island. The program was organized by OIST PR Department and Miller unit members.
